Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple!

Aren't those colors together yummy? I accented with Summer Starfruit and tada! What a fun card. That flower was made with stamped 7/8 in Cotton Ribbon  (page 20 of the Holiday Catalog). I stamped it with the chevron stamp from the set, Border Banter. I really dig this set! I used the Primrose Petals Classic Ink Pad. I then let it dry.. heat set it with the heat tool for good measure. I used one of our new Jumbo Sticky Rounds (page 31 of the Holiday Catalog) and made this awesome flower by just loosely swirling and pressing the ribbon around and around.. starting from the middle, outward. I stamped the Congratulations with the Basic Black Classic Ink Pad. The background stamp is Parlor Prints (page 129 of the core catalog). I used the 3/8 inch Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon. The leaves were punched out using the Bird Builder Punch (page 185 of the core catalog).

I hope you have enjoyed today's card. I wanted to post something as we get into the Holiday Weekend - Labor Day. I know my innkeeper duties will be keeping me pretty busy.. I hope you have some fun stuff planned for your weekend! Take care, be safe and get inky! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Making Jewelry!

Good day to you!!! I hope your weekend is going mighty fine! I've had a pretty good one so far myself. The weather in northwestern Michigan has cooled down some. Its in the mid 70's and last night it was in the high 40s. I have to admit.. it gets me thinking about Fall. Fall is a great time of year.. I love the color palette that mother nature colors our trees. I love to photograph fall! Speaking of fall .. we have change of articles of clothing.. and with that, we naturally need accessories. I'm all about accessories.. shoes, purses, and of course.. jewelry!

In my demonstrator's magazine, Stampin Success, they were showing some really cool ideas with jewelry. I just loved it. I've done something similar to this.. and just sort of forgot about this easy peasy technique. I used washers.. a variety of different sizes to see what I like best. I've found I like the flat washers best. The local hardware store really has a lot of goodies for paper crafters. You just have to have that creative juice flowing when you wander around there. I covered the washers with Stampin` Up! Designer series paper, with the help of a sharp craft knife and a sanding block, and then used Crystal Effects (a very thick coat on each side).. let them dry thoroughly overnight. That way I was not tempted to keep fondling them to see if they were dry! After dry, I used a drill press and put a hole in the top of each, and did some simple wirework. I bought the leather necklaces with clasp already attached, at a local hobby store, and tada! New, hip and very stylin` Stampin` Up! jewelry! I love this!!! I want to try rings, next. Stay tuned for that in the near future!

I hope you love today's project. I had a lot of fun making these and can't wait to make more! It is kind of addicting and what a neat new way to use some scraps of designer series paper. I love it!!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a fantabulous day! Take time to get inky!

Kicking It Up A Notch!

Hi Everyone! Thanks for stopping by! I am having fun with the Postage Due set lately. I love this set! Both cards I have made are somewhat the same.. but you will see I kicked up a notch on the second card.

Card #1

A fun card right? I used:

Postage Due Clear Stamp Set
Crumb Cake Card Stock
Vanilla Card Stock
More Mustard Card Stock
Crumb Cake Classic Ink
Island Indigo Classic Ink
Linen Thread
Postage Stamp Punch

Ok.. now, lets kick it up a notch.. ready?!

Card #2

I really dig this one. I love using the letters on top of the background stamped image.. its so collage-y. Is that a word? It is now!

I used the above .. plus:

1 1/4 inch Square Punch
Morning Post Alphabet Clear Mount Stamp Set
Island Indigo Classic Ink
More Mustard Classic Ink

Simple, Inexpensive and Quick Christmas Cards!

Hi there! I was on a roll and I decided to make some quick and easy cards on a budget. Are ya ready for this? In the core catalog on page 160, item #107311 Note Cards & Envelopes (20 cards pre scored and 20 envelopes, sized at 5 x 3 1/2) at a cost of $5.95 and also using item #128152, Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags in the Holiday Catalog on page 12, at a cost of $3.95.. so that is a total of: $$9.90, and then mix in some colors of ink, some Christmas stamps (I used: Greetings Of The Season, item #128033, Heart Of Christmas item #128129, and Seasonal Sayings item #128009). However, you could use any 1 set, I just have a thing about variety..! I also used some plain card stock in colors of Baja Breeze, Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler. I then decided to take it just a step further to "fancy them up just a little bit more", and used a variety of embossing folders on them. To even "dress them up more" .. you could add ribbon, or a button, or even some blingy basic rhinestones (my fav!).

Seriously though, for $9.90 you can get the notecards with envelopes and the labels.. how cool is that? Here are some photos for you....

Those are just a few samples of the 20 cards I made today in about a hour or so.. how cool is that? Quick, Simple and Inexpensive to make.. I love it!!!

Tulle Cool!

Good Evening!!! How are you? Thank you so much for stopping by tonight! I have been playing around and making some goodies.. and so excited I have had just a little time to stamp now and then.. and those nights I cannot sleep.. I get inky!

Here is a pretty card I made using some pretty new products from both the core catalog and the Holiday catalog.

So, it started out with a friend of mine who made a few of these flowers.. and I had to give it a whirl because she made it look SO easy and it really is!!! This flower is made out of the brand new Tulle in the holiday catalog , on page 4. It comes in 3 different colors (Crumb Cake , Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso. I also used the brand new Jumbo Sticky Rounds on page 31 of the Holiday Catalog. These are super cool.. just like sticky tape, but round. I started with a knot at the end and placed it in the center of the Jumbo Stocky Round and then I'd twist, then wrap, and then press to make sure it stayed in place. It was that easy! I've made a flower with our fabric this way, too.. Ribbon also works like a charm! What a cute way to decorate up a card, gift bag, a tag, picture frame, etc.

The Recipe:

Crumb Cake Card Stock
Fan Fair Designer Series Paper
3/8 inch Ruffled Ribbon - Island Indigo
Jumbo Sticky Round
Crumb Cake Tulle Ribbon
Friendly Phrases Clear Stamp Set
Island Indigo Classic Ink
Pearls Basic Jewels

I hope you enjoyed today's card! Keep in touch with the Chalet on Facebook, by clicking HERE. If needing supplies, head on over to my Online Store! Thanks again for stopping by. Have a great night and take time to get inky!
